  1. It’s interesting the way Ayutthaya in Thailand and Ayodhaya in India sound so similar. Actually there are various reports doing the rounds that Ayutthaya inspired Ayodhaya and vice versa though there are no concrete proofs yet. Thanks for sharing this post. I loved reading the history of the ancient city.

    1. That is very interesting, and yes they are quite similar. Ayodhaya looks interesting, thanks for giving me a new research project!

  2. I would love to go to Thailand and I have a whole list of things I want to do there. Ayutthaya looks like a great place to soak up some history and I love the idea of exploring temples and ruins to get a glimpse into the past.

  3. Ayutthaya is a great spot to visit when in Bangkok. We went from Bangkok to Ayutthaya by taxi, explored the sights and then hopped on the overnight train to Chang Mai. A great way to see Bangkok, Ayutthaya and head up north.

    1. We went cheap and took the train to Ayutthaya, I’m sure the taxi was a bit faster 🙂 Our first trip to Chiang Mai is booked for next year, I’m pretty excited!

  4. I have seen a bunch of photos of this place in ig and viewing it from your post its just breathless, the head on the tree caught my eye, is that really natural? or they made it like that? The whole package of your adventure is so cool I would like to try that too. ” Kap kun ka ” thanks as my thai friend told me. 🙂

  5. Nice to know about the history of this place. Thanks for sharing your tips and I like places with historical importance. Images are amazing.
